For more than 30 years, Barry has focused on adapting business-to-business marketing to a fast-changing buyer-directed landscape.
He has delivered hands-on marketing expertise to companies in healthcare, technology, business services, manufacturing and other high-ticket, complex sales industries, where he created and honed the use of a variety of sales cycle communication strategies, presaging the convergence of communication and technology that led to The Pursuit Group and its proprietary Sales Cycle Optimization program.
Barry also co-founded a category-leading healthcare technology company and a successful regional advertising agency that grew to one of the top 500 agencies in the United States. His experience also includes a long relationship with Peppers and Rogers Group, the internationally-renowned consulting firm that spirited the transformation of business from mass-to one-to-one marketing.
Barry is a frequent lecturer on marketing and sales topics at the university level. He holds degrees in marketing and communication from Bowling Green State University.
As a Principal at The Pursuit Group, John directs digital marketing and sales initiatives for both B2B and B2C clients. Areas of focus include strategic consulting and integration of Marketing Automation and CRM systems to accelerate sales. He works with companies across a broad range of industries including media, telecommunications, call-centers, consumer products, e-commerce, healthcare, and manufacturing. He is both Marketing Skills (A/B/C) and CRM-Field Marketing Certified through the Business Marketing Institute, and is expert in ASHER Sales Methodologies and tools including Selling Excellence, Top Ten Selling Skills, and CPQ Sales Team Assessments.
Prior to joining The Pursuit Group, his responsibilities at AOL, Netscape, and Time Warner included new business development, content acquisition, publishing, and revenue generation, as well as licensing, and OEM initiatives. He also helped lead the digital integration of the Time Inc. and Turner brands into the AOL Web Properties Network after the merger. An active Midwest angel investor and entrepreneur, he and his partners helped conceive and launch ListAfterList.com, one of the largest Web 2.0 list making sites on the Internet. He also works with entrepreneurial incubators such as TechColumbus, business accelerator programs such as 10x, and angel investment groups such as Ohio Tech Angels. He advises a range of startup businesses in developing their business models and successfully bringing new products to market.
John has a B.S. and an MBA from The Ohio State University in both Marketing and Finance.
Gail is a veteran marketing professional with specialized expertise in database marketing and direct response, and a focus on alternative and innovative marketing technologies and applications that drive action and response. Gail has provided marketing expertise and leadership for both agencies and clients in a variety of industries including high-tech, education, consumer goods, and manufacturing. Her areas of focus include automation, social, and mobile technologies that drive sales.
Gail’s expertise spans the entire marketing function, from brand development through marketing communications execution, including public relations, event marketing, channel marketing, call center development, data-driven and CRM-focused programs, lead generation, customer acquisition and retention, and lead nurturing via traditional, online, social and mobile channels. Clients while at Resource Interactive included a host of Silicon Valley tech companies including Apple Computer. She also provided leadership for online brands while at CompuServe as VP of Marketing.
Gail brings passion, enthusiasm and strategic marketing thought-leadership to The Pursuit Group’s clients.
Sharon is a seasoned marketing professional with expertise in identifying and implementing creative marketing solutions. Sharon has worked on both the agency and client side, implementing marketing programs from creative to back-end analysis, as well as establishing the systems and processes needed to engage in measurable marketing. Sharon has brought data-driven marketing expertise both to local marketing/advertising agencies, as well as to a diverse number of companies across America.
Sharon’s experience spans day-to-day management and implementation of marketing programs utilizing traditional, online, social and mobile marketing channels. In addition, Sharon focuses on systematizing data collection and the management of data procurement and integrity within client systems, with a concentration on consistency and coordination between departments and systems.
Before teaming up with The Pursuit Group, Tom spent over 15 years in marketing leadership roles driving revenue and strategic advantage for leading companies such as Kellogg’s, Intel, and Valassis.
Tom served as the Director of Incentive Marketing for Kellogg’s leading a team that optimized over $100mm in promotion spend. Tom led a Center of Excellence that worked across several business units to identify and proliferate best practices across this $13B organization. Prior to joining Kellogg’s, Tom led marketing and business development initiatives for Valassis, a $2B promotional media company. Tom supported the growth of new businesses (and the culling of underperforming businesses) with new venture analysis, go-to-market planning, strategic partnerships, and M&A support.
Tom began his marketing career with Intel where he led the global launch of a new line of mobile processors. Tom is an active contributor to the Michigan entrepreneurial community and serves as a regular speaker and coach mentoring early-stage start- ups. He has an MBA from the University of Michigan and is conversational in French.
Ben is a young marketing professional, serving as an Account Leader at The Pursuit Group. Ben strategically guides clients through the evolving B2B landscape, equipped with his expertise in digital marketing and creative vision. His expertise includes Social Media Marketing, Content Development, Email Marketing and Marketing Strategy. Over the years, Ben taught himself HTML and CSS which in turn, placed him in a position to lead multiple website redesign projects for various companies.
Ben is a diligent, well-rounded marketer who believes, “If there is a will, there is a way.” His optimism and vision helps lead clients to success in unique and creative ways – opening the door to possibilities.
Aside from his profession, Ben is an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, Fantasy Football junkie and a casual disc golfer. Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business from the University of Toledo’s College of Business and Innovation.
Eric has more than 30 years' experience in marketing, publishing, and technology development. He has extensive consulting experience developing marketing and direct response programs, as well as developing content for print, online, and broadcast media.
Eric has served a wide range of companies from start-ups to global corporations. He is the author and developer of the Business Marketing Institute's industry-endorsed MSA/B/C and CRM-FM content, courseware, and certification examinations for training and certifying essential marketing skills and knowledge for business-to-business marketing professionals. He is the author of two books on marketing, The Marketing Manager's Handbook, and the CRM Field Marketing Handbook, and holds two U.S. patents for Internet-related systems.
As the Director of Operations for The Pursuit Group Laurie’s focus is on delivering to a client a quality program that is expertly executed. She works across all business areas providing insight and leadership to optimize the process and overall experience for both the client and the internal team.
She is a seasoned project management professional with over 25 years of experience in running large organizations and internal operations. Her focus has always been on improving project management processes, working with operations to deliver effective outputs and ensuring client expectations are met. Over the years she was recognized for running some of the most successful departments when it came to profitably, employee satisfaction and most importantly the client experience.
Beyond work, Laurie sits on the Marketing Advisory Board at the University of Toledo to help set curriculum, promote engagement with the business community and interact with classrooms and individual students.
Her favorite part about the job is the people she works with. Her philosophy is to “work hard, have fun and get the job done”.
Catherine Alzapiedi serves as a Funnel Management Implementation Specialist for the company’s turnkey demand generation practice. Catherine will assist clients in the production and implementation of marketing automation tools, including e-mail and web landing page templates, content production and process implementation.
For the last decade, Catherine has managed her own graphic design service, including Website design and production, as well as a wide range of off-line design projects. She has designed, launched and managed multiple Websites for a range of commercial clients. Her presence has accelerated both the breadth of services and the speed of delivery within various marketing automation tools.
Catherine earned a BS in Communications Science from the University of Hartford and returned to school at Owens Community College to earn a Commercial Technologies Certification.
Jason serves as a specialist in Marketing Automation implementation. Jason assists clients in the production and implementation of marketing automation tools, including e-mail and web landing page templates, content production and process implementation.
A digital marketing specialist, Jason is experienced in Social Media Marketing, Web Analytics, Marketing Automation Systems, E-mail Marketing, and Search Engine Optimization. He is certified in both Google Analytics and Bing Ads, making his skillset both well-rounded and highly refined.
